This Cookie Policy explains how Commenty uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website or use our Chrome extension.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners. Commenty uses a small amount of storage to keep you signed in and remember your choices, and, only if you agree, Google Analytics to measure usage.
Analytics: only with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Limited; data may be processed by Google LLC in the United States) to see which pages of commenty.ai are visited and which links are used, for example clicks on the Chrome Web Store install button. It is off by default. Until you click “Accept analytics”, nothing is loaded from Google: no script, no request to Google servers and no Google cookies. Our legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, so the data is not used for advertising. Google Analytics still works with pseudonymous identifiers such as the _ga cookie, an IP address when the request is made, and device and browser details, so we do not describe this data as anonymous.
Withdrawing consent: click “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page and choose “Reject”. Google Analytics stops at once and we delete its cookies (_ga and _ga_*) from your browser. This is as easy as accepting. We ask for your choice again after 12 months or when this policy changes materially.

Strictly necessary storage (no consent needed)
These items keep the site working or remember a choice you made. They are not used for tracking and cannot be switched off here; you can remove them in your browser settings, which signs you out.

Other services
- Stripe — payments. Checkout and the billing portal run on stripe.com, where Stripe sets its own cookies under its own policy. commenty.ai sets no Stripe cookies. Stripe Privacy Policy

- Google Gemini — the help chat sends your question to Google's Gemini API to write an answer; this does not set cookies. Please do not enter passwords or sensitive personal information. See our Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — the fonts are downloaded when we build the site and served from commenty.ai; your browser does not contact Google for them.
- Badge images — the “featured on” badges are served from commenty.ai. The links to those sites only connect to them when you click.

Statistics Without Cookies
Our self-hosted Umami counts page views on our website without cookies and without local storage. It is not used in the Chrome extension. See our Privacy Policy for what it records.
Managing Cookies
You can change your analytics choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. You can also control and delete cookies and site data in your browser settings; removing the sign-in items above will sign you out. Most browsers let you refuse or selectively accept cookies — see your browser's help for instructions.
